Things keep coming up golden in Seattle this week.
First, the Seahawks beat the Packers Monday night on a controversial touchdown catch by aptly named wide receiver Golden Tate. And now, the weekend weather forecast has gone from gloomy to golden—as in sunny and 70 degrees.
That, and we’ll also see plenty of golden sunshine tomorrow.
The day will begin on a crisp note, with temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Morning fog is also possible, especially south of Seattle, but it’ll quickly burn off around mid-morning. Highs will warm to the 70-degree mark by the afternoon, with the entire Puget Sound region basking under sunny skies.
Clouds return on Friday morning as the remnants of a fizzling front approach the state. The front is looking even weaker than originally forecast, with measurable rainfall now unlikely for all of Western Washington, save the immediate coast. Temperatures, though, will take a hit due to the cloud cover—expect highs only in the mid 60s on Friday.
A sprinkle or two is possible early Saturday, but by noon, the sun should break through. Temperatures will warm back up to near 70.
Sunshine is also in store for Sunday—the final day of September—with temperatures peaking in the low 70s. With the odds high that we won’t see any rain between now and then, the month is likely to end tied with 1993 as the third-driest September in Seattle.
Our golden weather continues into October, with sunny, warm conditions expected Monday and Tuesday. Beyond that, most forecast models show Seattle remaining dry through late next week.
And if—er, when—the rain finally returns?
The Seahawks will still be playing.
In other words, there’s plenty of Golden moments yet to come.
