Haven’t done your taxes yet? Spent the past two sun-splashed weekends hanging outside, instead of with your 2011 tax return?
Worry not, procrastinators. A timely assist from Mother Nature is on the way. Come Monday, you won’t be able to neglect the IRS in favor of an outdoor stroll—because you won’t want to be outdoors. That’s right, rain—perhaps the most we’ve seen so far this April—is headed back to Western Washington tomorrow.
For the rest of Sunday (and what a gorgeous Sunday it was out there, eh, slackers?), we’ll see clouds increasing, with temperatures dropping off a few degrees into the lower 50s. The rain will move in from the west early tomorrow morning, with the steadiest precipitation falling between 5 and 9 a.m. A brief break is possible mid-day, before another batch of showers rolls through in the afternoon.
As we get into Monday evening, showers will taper off in the immediate Seattle area—although a Convergence Zone is likely between Shoreline and Everett. (Note to all you procrastinators: the downtick in shower activity over Seattle will be negated by an uptick in wind—lest you get any ideas about putting off those taxes once more.) By the end of the day, most locales around Puget Sound will likely have received anywhere from .20 to .40 inches of rain—amounts that would make Monday the wettest day in over two weeks.
Tuesday—Tax Day—will start off dry, with partly sunny skies giving way to a full-on overcast by the afternoon hour. Rain will spread back in to the metro area Tuesday night, continuing into Wednesday morning. Another lull in the action will occur Wednesday night, before more rain—and wind—moves back into the region on Thursday. Friday also looks wet, but some sunshine is possible for Saturday.
By then, all of us will be clamoring for some more outdoor time—not just the procrastinators.
