Hang in there, Seattle—brighter days are in store.
That is, once today and Monday are in the rearview mirror.
Clouds are in the forecast again today, but unlike yesterday, there’s no hope for sunshine later on. Instead, skies will darken as the day progresses, with showers a good bet by 6 p.m. The reason? Another upper level low is roaming in the vicinity, forecast to crisscross the northern half of the state tonight.
As the low moves through, on-and-off rain—relatively light in the Seattle area, but heavier up north in Whatcom and Skagit counties—will continue through the evening, tapering off after midnight. Winds will also pick up a bit over the Strait, but should remain calm around Puget Sound.
We’ll be moisture-free in most places by Monday morning, save for some lingering showers around the Canadian border. The clouds, unfortunately, will stick around a little longer, only thinning out late in the afternoon. With limited sunshine, highs will top out in the upper 60s—nearly ten degrees below normal.
It’s Tuesday when more summer-like weather returns. Under mostly sunny skies, temperatures will creep back into the lower 70s, climbing above 75 degrees both Wednesday and Thursday. All in all, outside of some morning clouds, the middle of the week is looking rather bright—literally.
Better dig out the shades while there’s still time.
