A dry spring and summer led to a below-normal annual rainfall tally in Seattle for the first time in five years, with the city logging 35.73 inches of rain. While only less than two inches shy of the yearly norm, 2018 was markedly drier than any of the four years that preceded it, with Seattle recording at least 44 inches each year from 2014-2017.
